ACA Health Insurance Marketplace® Information & Updates

Exciting news! My series of blogs about the ACA Health Insurance Marketplace® is almost done and ready to start posting! I started developing this months ago and it has expanded more and more as I found great information to share. Bookmark this page and/or subscribe so you make sure not to miss it! It's going to cover everything from the history of the Affordable Care Act to the application process and how to prepare for that, all the way to post-enrollment instructions from the top insurance carriers.

I have worked incredibly hard on this guide and have really enjoyed it. It's called Obamacare? Marketplace? The Exchange?: A Comprehensive Guide and the goal is to answer consumers' most frequently searched questions about all topics surrounding the ACA and Marketplace insurance. Be on the lookout!

Missed Open Enrollment? You May Qualify for a SEP!

SEP stands for Special Enrollment Period. It’s a time outside the annual Open Enrollment Period (OEP) when you can enroll in health insurance. You can enroll in Medicaid or CHIP at any time but once outside of the OEP, you need a SEP for Marketplace health insurance.

You must experience one of many Qualifying Life Events (QLEs) to be eligible for a SEP and you must request it within a specific time window before/after the event occurs. The time window will vary depending on the type of SEP (usually 60 days before or 60 days after the event).

If you'd like to learn more about the QLEs that make you eligible for a SEP, click the button below and read all about it:
